Personalisable experience for a highly contagious track
‘Zooby Doo’ is a track by Tigermonkey. I recognised it straight away from the Ribena advert. The brief was to deliver a mobile experience for the single launch date. I watched the music video that featured whacked-out character-heads on dancers that explode once ‘you’ve caught the Zooby Doo’s’.
Infect your friends
The concept was based around the idea of infecting your friends with the ‘Zooby Doo’s’. Users sign into the site with facebook connect and upload a headshot. Every few seconds your face swaps between random GIFs as your character continues to dance in a never ending loop.
Looping routines, crazy GIFs and maddening audio
I spent days editing greenscreen footage of dancers to work in continuous loops. I outputted the routines as heavily compressed PNG sequences. I then figured out how to loop the track itself to play in the background of the experience.
